Okay now, I'll cut straight to the chase.

A support system is your home team - mentors, peers, colleagues, friends, and industry professionals who offer various forms of support from feedback, opportunities, knowledge sharing, and emotional encouragement. Here are 9 things that expanded my perspective on building a support system and were worth sharing this week:

🌻 Feel Better: Self-Discovery and Personal Growth

1. Each time you find yourself stuck, let your guard down and reach out. When you open up and share your challenges, you make yourself more likable and trustworthy. At the same time, avoiding being overly sensitive or constantly complaining is essential. Instead, showcase yourself as someone who seeks personal growth. When you share your vulnerabilities with a clear purpose, you create an environment where others can wholeheartedly support you.

2. Asking for help reflects a growth mindset and is not a sign of inadequacy.

🧠 Think Better: Perspectives, Mind Hacks and Brain Boosters

3. "Know where you want to go and make sure the right people know about it.”
β€” Meredith Mahoney, CEO and Board Member at Lantern

4. Networking is not limited to new business leads or seeking mentors. It's a crucial step in keeping yourself informed about industry trends and best practices. Attend workshops, conferences, and festivals relevant to your field to gain insights into what's happening in the world around.

5. Be the one to follow up on a conversation. That's how you make people remember you.

6. T
he best way to get support is by offering support. Be more vocal bout the positives, appreciate people's efforts by leaving a thank you note on their table or in the comments. Share their work in your posts and stories, or with friends and family. Do it more often. Be their cheerleader and they will be yours.

7. Y
our clients can be your biggest supporters too. When you open up the lines of communication, show respect for their opinions and perspectives, and truly understand their needs, you create a winning team dynamic. It's pretty remarkable β€” 95% of my business comes from good old word-of-mouth, and I don't even spend a dime on marketing. That's the power of having clients who can't help but spread the word about the awesome work you do.

⚑️ Work Better: Tips and Strategies for Work Optimization

8. ADP List is a phenomenal platform to get mentoring at no cost. Remember, mentoring doesn't have to come from one, be on the lookout for people who can advance your career. Write to them on Medium, LinkedIn and Twitter, find their websites, join their communities and invest in their cohorts.

9. I found this cool list of conversation starters to make it easy for you to reach out to people.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Bottom line

The support system is your trampoline. πŸš€

What is your takeaway from this? Let me know by replying directly to this email! I'd love to hear from you.

I promise to be back with fresh ideas next week! 🎈
